CVS 9/30/12....WOW!

I bought some $4/$20 from Ebay again. I love that my CVS will allow me to use as many in my transaction as I want so I don't have to split it up. This time I was just over $80, so I got to use 4 :) Here is how I did:

Pampers (3) $28.50
-(3) $1.50/1 MQs (from Cheerios boxes)
-$10 ECB Earned (needed the Puffs for this too)
-$14 or $4.67 each

Puffs (2) $1.98
-$1/2 MQ (from inside of Pampers box)
-$.98 or $.49 each

Soft Soap Bodywash (2) $7
-(2) $1/1 MQs (from inside of Colgate toothpaste box)
-$4 ECB Earned
-$1 or $.50 each

Nexxus (2) $20.28
-(2) $3/1 MQs
-$10 ECB Earned
-$5 Savingstar Credit Earned
-$5.07 (25% CVS Q)
-$5.79 MM!

Schick Quattro $10.49
-$4 MQ
-$4 ECB Earned
-$2.62 (25% CVS Q)
-$.13 MM!

Physician's Formula Mascara $9.99
-$7 ECB Earned
-$2.50 (25% CVS Q)
-$.49

Subtotal: $78.24 (oops, I thought I was over $80 before tax, but I wasn't...all 4 came off though)
MQs: $17.50
Savingstar Credit: $5
CVS Qs/ECBs: $57.69
Tax: $3.79
OOP: $1.84

Also, I used $33.58 in ECBs and got back $35. The increase almost covers my OOP meaning that this was all free :)

Toys R' Us Gerber Baby Food Clearance!

So, when I saw this I grabbed my coupons and headed back. Unfortunately I didn't look for my yogurt coupons, but oh well. Here is how I did:

Gerber 2nds Foods (12) $13.33
-$7.33 (clearance discount)
-(6) $.75/2 MQs
-$1.50 or $.13 per pack or $.06 per container!

Gerber Puffs 3 pack (2) $11.98
-$6.18 (clearance discount)
-$1/2 MQ (I wonder if they would have let it fly if I tried to use 3?)
-$4.80 or $2.40 per 3 pack or $.80 per container!

Gerber Yogurt Blends (3) $8.97
-$6.27 (clearance discount)
-$.90 per 4-pack or $.23 per yogurt!

Overall, if I would have paid full price (which would never happen!) this would have cost $34.28. However, after clearance and coupons I paid $9 which is a savings of 73.7%! I didn't even have to work hard for this one either :)

Walgreens TOO :) 9/16

This was fun too! Although I don't get to see all of the rewards now, I know they are there! Here is how I did:

ID Gum (12) $12
-(6) BOGO MQ (took off $7.40)
-6000 BR Earned ($6)
-$1.40 MM!

Glade Oil Warmers (3) $4
-(3) $1/1 MQs

-(2) $1 RR Earned
-$1.01 MM!

Mitchum Deoderant $1.99

-2000 BR Earned ($2)
-$.24

Huggies Slip-Ons $8.99
-$2/1 MQ
-$2/1 Wags Q
-1000 BR Earned ($1)
-$3.99

So, although I spent quite a bit OOP, I have 10,000 BR which equates to $10 if I redeemed now. I am going to save them up though! Altogether:

Subtotal: $30.97
MQs: $14.15
WQs: $2
Tax: $1.40
OOP: $16.22

I earned $10 and got $6 back in RR, therefore, this all cost me $.22!!!!!!!

I'm Back!! CVS 9/16.....This was fun :)

I have still been shopping although I haven't been posting. This was a pretty big shop and I since I got my new camera, I thought I should share! Here is how I did:

John Frieda Frizz Ease (2) $12.98
-(2) $1/1 MQs
-$5 ECB Earned
-20 % CVS Q (took off $2.60)
-$3.38 or $1.69 each

-$3/1 MQ (diapers)
-(3) $1/1 (melts)
-$10 ECB Earned
-$15 for 112 diapers and FREE melts! (just over $.13 per diaper)

So, I bought the $4/$20 from Ebay and was able to use 5 of those in this transaction. I also used the 20% off coupon that was e-mailed to me. I have put in the 20% above in the non-sale items which adds up to $8.76. However, that coupon only took off $6.23. Anyways, here is the total breakdown:

Subtotal: $100.46
MQs: $34.72
CVS Qs: $55.23 (includes 4/20 and ECBs)
Tax: $4.02
OOP: $14.53
Savings: 85.5%

I started with $28 ECBs and ended with $37. The increase of $9 means that this really cost $5.53 after tax! Oh yeah, I clearly earned $5 ECB for the beauty club today too! So, this cost $.53 after tax :)

CVS 8/5.....AMAZING!!!

So, I lost my camera about three weeks ago and haven't bought a replacement yet. (this is why I haven't posted--also because I have been crazy busy) Anyways, my trip to CVS this morning was so good that I took a picture with my phone and e-mailed it to myself. I wasn't sure if all the coupons I wanted to use would fly, but they did and I had a great trip :) Here are the details:

On top of these already great deals, I used (4) $4/$20 that I bought on Ebay and I used a 25% off that came in my e-mail. I am not sure how that was calculated, but this turned out to be a huge MONEYMAKING trip!

Subtotal: $87.60

June Savings Totals!

So, this is probably a lot easier than me listing out my savings details for the month! However, it does not show the tax that I spent. Although it is included in the "My Price" column, I like to separate it out to see how much of it was tax :)

This month I spent $39.65 on tax! That is over 18% of what I spent this month!

I also like to point out that half way through the year, my budget allows me to spend $1800 and I have only spent $1518.39 ;)

Walgreens 6/30....MM Bayer!

So, this is four transactions from three different stores listed all in one. I didn't want to clear out all the Bayer at one location so went to different stores. The first two were priced at $3.19 so no problem with the coupons. However, the last store, (my regular) they were $2.99. I told them right from the beginning the coupons would need to be adjusted down. The cashier called the manager over who said they can't. I see it's in the corporate policy but didn't have my copy. He said he had his and I asked if he could get it. He came back five minutes later and said yep we can adjust it down. He wasn't happy because he also had to make a stab about it saying one offer printed per customer. I wanted to chime in and say that I always ask permission before I buy a lot of a deal, but let it go with thanks for looking for me :)

Here is the breakdown:

Bayer Low Dose (21) $65.59 + $7.98 for coupons from eBay
-(21) $3/1 MQs
-$30 RR Earned
-$19.43 MM!

Suave Shampoo/Conditioner (2) $2

CVS 6/28......Sally Hansen Nail Polish!

Like I have previously said, I will be stopping by CVS each day this week to get my $2 hair care coupon to get a free item that will get me closer to my $10 gas card. Today I opted to spend a little for something that I wanted though. After this trip I have $11.20 towards the gas card! Here is how I did:

Tresemme Dry Shampoo $2.74 (clearance)
-$2/1 CRT
-$.74

Garnier Putty $2.39 (clearance)

CVS 6/27....Clearance Make-up and Hair Care!

I really just want to keep scanning my card each day to get the $2/1 hair product coupon. Each day I have used it to get free shampoo or conditioner and closer to a $10 gas card. So far I have "spent" $8.46 towards the card with $0 OOP :) Also, I tried to used a $5/$20 and a $3/$20 cosmetic but that didn't work. Oh well, without the $3/$10 my subtotal after coupons was $.14! Anyways, here is the breakdown:

Garnier Shampoo (3) $5.97 (clearance)
-(3) $1/1 CVS Qs
-(3) $1/1 MQs
-$.03 MM!

Garnier Style $2.19 (clearance)
-$1/1 CVS Q
-$1/1 MQ
-$.19

Herbal Essences Conditioner $1.99 (clearance-counted towards gas card)
-$2/1 CVS Q
-$.01 MM!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish (4) $7 (clearance)
-(4) $1/1 MQs
-$3 or $.75 each

Almay Concealer $2.62 (clearance)

-$.37

Subtotal: $22.14
MQs: $11
CVS Qs: $11
Tax: $1.20
OOP: $1.34

Savings: 93.9%

So, I like to figure my savings after clearance prices and including tax because it is money out of my pocket. However, just for fun, I calculated it on the retail price and without including tax (like on TLCs Extreme Couponing) and my savings was like 99.79% savings!

CVS 6/25....Diapers!

I get a little panicky at the thought of paying full price for diapers. Haylee is down to two packs left and daycare will need some soon because I only took her one pack the last time she requested some. The CVS baby deal couldn't have come at a better time. The clearance Jeans diapers counted too :) Here is how I did in two transactions:

I went on Saturday night to get in on the John Frieda deal. I know it is a month long deal, but I didn't know if the prices were going to change. CVS 6/8- Quick Trip, but Great Trip!

I have been deprived of couponing this week due to starting my first two grad classes. They happen to be all day (8am-5pm) this week and next week. When I am not there I am doing homework or reading. Anyways, I finally had a chance to read the blogs I follow. I seen there was a $5/$20 CVS Q in the paper and that reminded me about the $1.99 Coke coupon that would be printing out today too. Anyways, here is how I did in two transactions so I could use two $5/$20:

Walgreens- Goody Headbands!

I wasn't planning on going to Walgreens. However, I wanted to run to CVS to get my $1.99 Coke so I decided to stop while I was out. I did five transactions to use my $2 Ecotrin RRs from last week. Here is how I did:

CVS 6/3......A little bit of ALOT!

I don't really know what to say besides I had three $4/$20 CVS Qs left from the five I bought on eBay. I have only bought these one other time and then I used them one at a time. However, I read that you could use as many as you want at a time that your transaction allows. It does look a little weird to the cashier when I hand him three of the same coupon (although they have different codes). Anyways, here is how I did:

Walgreens 5/30...More Ecotrin!

I got overage at Walgreens! I repeat, I got overage at Walgreens!!!!

So, I bought 40 of the $5/2 Ecotrin coupons on Ebay in preparation for this deal. Believe it or not, but those coupons weren't very expensive either. Less than $.25 each. Anyways, I thought my favorite BA was just awesome and putting my $5 coupons in at full value when the register asked. However, I went to a different Walgreens today that has the new registers and they scanned at $5 with no problems! I did the same transaction 5 times. Here is how I did:

Ecotrin (2) $3
-$5/2 MQ
-$2 RR Earned

Tinkerbell Decorations I MADE!!!

I bought 4 canvases for a total of just over $10.

I used all of my free paint from recent freebies I signed up for to paint a coat on the canvases. Jason kept asking what I was going to do with all of this free paint and this was my first project!

I used painters tape to tape off sections and used a different color to paint in alternating sections.

I messed up on the bottom one by not painting the green blue : (

Next, I got these frames from Kohl's on clearance with an extra 30% back and earned Kohl's cash. I think before the Kohls' cash I spent $2.79 each on these for a total of just over $8.

I painted each one one of the three colors from the free paint samples. I don't know if you can tell here, but I kept them streaky looking. I like this look and it didn't take very long as you can tell it is not perfect.

Final product....well, kind of. I am going to hang them in Haylee's room
I forgot to say that I got the Tinkerbell pictures from a clearanced CVS calendar that cost $.75.
I am not a creative, artsy person, so I was excited when I was happy with the end product. I will let it be known that I took the canvas idea from Amy, our daycare provider, who got it from Pintrest. The painted frames with Tinkerbell are what I added!

Because I LOVE to save money, I was also excited that this costs less than $20 and the framed Tinkerbell's look like they are worth more than that to me :)

Walgreens 5/16....Mac & Cheese and FREE Vitamins

I have read about people crashing the new system, but my favorite Walgreens still doesn't have it. However, I shopped at a different one to "waste" time and I crashed their system THREE times!  Anyways, I wanted to get Mac & Cheese and use up some $.99 RR from the Starbucks. For some reason it cut me off at 5 RRs too, so I have to pay OOP for my Kraft :(

I also found vitamins that were free after the IVC so I grabbed those and then went to my store to see if they had any. They didn't but I got more Starbucks and mac & cheese while I was there.

Here is how I did:

Walgreens...Starbucks Refreshers!

I want to start this post by saying that this may make some other people/couponers mad. I did clear a shelf for this deal and I don't feel bad about it. I am with the lady on Extreme Couponing who said "If buying the item makes my family money, then I do NEED the item." Also, Jason drinks these kinds of things all the time, so they will definitely not be wasted!

Also, I went to my Walgreens a week in advance and asked them if they would special order them for me. They said they heard from the Pepsi driver that they weren't very good and people weren't really buying them. He said they would allow me to get 28. I asked if he wanted me to wait later in the week and he said no, Sunday morning was fine. This is great, because I read that the warehouse is out and what Walgreens currently has in stock is all they will have for this sale. Here is how I did:

Starbucks Refreshers (28) $27.72 + $9.24 (purchased 20 coupons on Ebay)
-(28) $1/1 MQs (adjusted to $.99 each)
-$27.72 RR Earned
-$18.48 MM!

Now what to do with 28 $.99 RRs!

I was so excited to get to Target to take advantage of the Nivea deal, but I was a little disappointed that I don't have any Nivea coupons other than the one that came in the beauty bag. March Savings Totals!

I just realized that I didn't do many post in March. You would think that because I was home on maternity leave for most of the month, I would have done some more. Well, I still shopped, but thought it was a pain to set everything up to take a picture and then put it all away. Anyways, I am happy that I am doing my savings total the day after the month :)

I did go over a little bit this month. However, I have been below recently so I am okay with it. Also, Haylee's birthday party was yesterday and we had to buy supplies for that as well! I should have waited to do my savings post until uploaded Haylee's birthday pictures. I may have to add them later :)

Check Out this FREEBIE!!!

So, this isn't a freebie for everyone, but I had to post about it because it is that exciting for me! Here is the story behind how I got these bottles for free:

These are the bottles that my sister and sister in-law both used for their kids, so naturally I took their recommendations and started to use them with Haylee as well. However, I hated them because they would always leak, and when you're a first time mom with a screaming, hungry baby, it gets stressful when you can't get the bottle to stop pouring milk all down your baby's face.

Anyways, with Connor on the way, I signed up for a free Avent bottle somewhere. This time it came with a ring inside. I didn't really know what it was for, but my friend was over with her baby and told me that is what makes the bottles not leak. Hmmm, weird because I didn't have any of those in my bottles for Haylee. So, I ordered two packs of the rings from Amazon to find out they don't fit the older bottles! Well, crap!

Not knowing what I really wanted from Avent when I called, I thought I just wanted to share my story. I was pleasantly surprised when the lady on the other end of the phone knew exactly what I was talking about and instantly offered to send me up to 10 bottles for free! Holy crap, seriously?! Well, she only sent nine, but I am not complaining ;)

I guess it's true that you catch more flies with honey. Like I said, when I called, I wasn't rude or yelling or really asking them to replace anything. Avent just did that all on there own and I am more than happy to write an updated review of these bottles now. I could also review their amazing customer service too :) Look what it got me!

CVS 3/1.....Scott Toilet Paper!!!

I went to CVS to get the Scott toilet paper. Because I knew it would be quite a bit OOP, I decided to buy five $4/$20 CVS coupons on Ebay. I also had my $3/$15 from giving my pharmacy story. I did three transactions and have three $4/$20 coupons to go back for more this week or save until next week. Here is how I did:

My $4/4 Kellogg's coupons were expiring today, so I was thrilled to see that Kellogg's were 50% off at Hy-Vee starting today! However, I didn't know that they don't take printables over $2.50. (they did this one time for me though :) I was going to combine this deal with the buy three breakfast items get free milk coupon too. However, the cashier said they don't take "free" printable coupons. I didn't argue that one because I have heard of a lot of stores doing that one. Oh well, here is how I did in the cereal aisle:

Walgreens 2/27...A lot OOP, but great trip still....also, Connor makes his blogger debut!

Once I seen the Huggies wipes were free at Walgreens, I hurried myself up and got there before this deal got shut down. I only had $6 RR and there were a few moneymakers I wanted in on. This being said, I spent a lot OOP, but increased my RRs tremendously. Here is what I did in two transactions:

Huggies Wipes (2) $4.98

Subtotal: $49.96
MQs: $17.65
WQs/BOGO/RRs: $13

OOP: $22.73
Savings: 54.5%

I already mentioned that I started with $6 RRs, but I also wanted to add in that I ended with $35 which is a gain of $29. If you subtract my OOP from my increase in RRs, you get a $6.27 MM!

Here is a picture of Connor from the hospital. He was two weeks old on Saturday and I can't believe how fast that time has gone. My maternity leave is 1/3 over already too : ( He is such a good baby and I am very lucky to have two children who are healthy!

January Savings Total

I adjusted the budget to $300 a month a bit to early I think. I was way below this past month, but that's a good thing! I am sure that I will have months in the near future that I make up for being under budget this month.

Here is how I did:

Subtotal (after sale/clearance prices): $1062.53
Manufacturer Coupons: $376.31
Store Coupons (includes ECBs/RRs/Gift Cards): $485.53
Mail-In-Rebates: $17.68
Tax: $33.40
Out-Of-Pocket: $216.41
Savings (including tax): 79.6%

So yeah, even after the $33 tax, I was still $85 below budget. This means without including tax, I was below budget by $117.

Walgreens 1/5....Star Wars!

I knew Walgreens wouldn't have many of the Star Wars figures in stock, so I wanted to get their early this morning to have the best chance of getting in on this deal. I don't know why though, as I don't like Star Wars or really know anyone who would enjoy these. I will find someone to donate them to though :)

I also almost/possibly stumbled on an amazing moneymaker, but the manager and cashier both said no and wouldn't even try. There were three One Touch Ultras on the clearance shelf for $18.99 each originally $74.99. I knew I had the $10/1 MQs, but that would only bring them down to $8.99. An amazing price if this is something that you need, but not for me! So, I decided to swing by the aisle to see if there were any tags indicating RRs or WQs and sure enough there was a tag for the Ultra 2 regular price $74.99-$30 WQ= $44.99.

However, the meters that were in that shelf place were the same ones that I found on clearance, not the Ultra 2. I was hoping they would atleast try it for me, but the manager said, it won't work because it is for the Ultra 2 not the Ultra. So, I was hoping for $30 overage total as if it would have worked the WQ would have automatically adjusted down to $18.99 each and the MQs would have been my overage. Anyways, as I was taking the three meters back that I no longer wanted, the manager took the other four that were on the regular shelf and took them in the back stating he didn't think they were supposed to be marked down.

Aside from that, I did okay... here is what I got:

CVS 1/29/12....Great MM Day!

It's been a while since I have had an exciting trip to CVS. This one did it for me. However, I am reading that some places got a $5 MIR in their papers for the Speed Stick. We didn't get it, but if we did that would have been a HUGE money maker for me. Oh well, still great! Here it is:

-$5/2 MQ
-$.02 MM!

Right Guard Deoderant (2) $2.28 (clearance)

Keep in mind that I did not pay with any ECBs and I ended with $19. This is almost $13 more than my pre-tax total....so a huge moneymaker today :)
