Coborn's in South Dakota Shopping Trip!

We were in Mitchell, South Dakota for the weekend for a wedding. Because Jason was the best man, he had to be to the church 3 hours before us. So, we went to grab something to eat. I noticed as we were driving there was a store that said it doubles coupons up to $.50! I just wanted to check out their ad to see if there was any good match-ups. However, I noticed when I got inside that Saturday's was there day to double 10 coupons up to $1. This made me very excited as you can imagine! Here is what I got....and my foster child did one transaction as well :)

Nutella Hazelnut Spread (2) $5.98
-(2) $1/1 MQs (doubled to $2 each)
-$1.98 or $.99 each (I've been wanting to try this, but it's expensive!)

WhoNu? Cookies $3.49
-$1/1 MQ (doubled to $2)
-$1.49 (I've have heard these aren't good, but for this price wanted to try myself)

Degree Trial Size Deodorant $8.05
-(7) $.75/1 MQs (doubled to $1.15 each...was hoping to get overage, but no go)
-FREE!

Meow Mix Cat Food (10) $53.90
-(10) $1/1 MQs (doubled to $2 each)
-BOGO Sale (took off $26.95)
-$6.95 or $.70 each or less than $.20/lb

All together, my subtotal was $71.42. I used $18.25 in MQs which "doubled" to take off another $15.80. I also saved $26.95 for the BOGO sale which brought my total down to $10.42 plus $2.39 tax for a total of $12.81 OOP. Not including tax, I saved 85.4%.

This was just fun because I have never got to double coupons that were more than $.50 before :)

August Savings Totals...A Little Late!

Here is how I did in August. Our budget is $200 a month so when the end of the month was coming up and I had $30 left to spend, I went to do some shopping and could only get myself to spend about $10. I guess that helps make up for last month!

Shelf Cost: $904.64
Manufacturer Coupons: $388.72
Store Coupons/ RRs/ ECBs: $356.89
Mail-In Rebates: $13.31
Tax Paid: $34.20
I paid $145.72 after rebates plus $34.20 tax for a total of $179.92. ($21.08 under :)

Overall, this is a savings of 84% not including the tax! I am glad to see this percentage back up in the 80s as it was on 73% last month!
